What factors affect my home loan interest rate?

Your interest rate depends on several factors, including your credit score, loan amount, repayment term and the type of loan. Lenders also consider economic conditions and risk assessments when determining rates.

Will this affect my credit score?

We do a soft credit check that won’t impact your credit score.

How long is a pre-approval valid?

Our Home Loan Pre-Approvals are valid for 90 days, after which you’ll need to renew by sending us your updating your financial information.  We will then issue you with a new Pre-Approval letter.

Can I still get guidance without starting the process?

Yes! You’re welcome to use our home loan calculators or visit our Bond Talk page for helpful insights, tips, and updates to boost your confidence.

Do I need a deposit to get pre-approved?

Not always. We’ll check if you qualify for 100% financing — deposit optional.

What documents do I need?

Typically we need your ID, recent payslips, 3 months’ bank statements and consent to do ITC.

Does pre-approval guarantee home loan approval?

No, pre-approval is not a final guarantee. It means you meet the initial criteria, but final approval depends on factors like a property valuation, updated documents and bank verification. Still, it puts you in a much stronger position when making offers.

Do you use all credit bureau for pre-approval checks?

No. BestBond currently uses TransUnion for credit checks during the pre-approval process. However, it’s important to know that banks may also use different bureaus when evaluating your full application. This means your credit score might differ slightly depending on the bureau each bank uses.
